We have all heard the saying ‘keeping the best wine until last’? These words kept popping into my head all through Aisling & Cathal’s fantastic wedding day. On almost the last day of 2016, this was a massively enjoyable day for all the guests and indeed, for all those who helped out.
From the moment photographer, John McMahon (www.johnmcmahonphotography.com) and myself arrived at Aisling’s impeccable home, it was obvious that it was going to be a stress free wedding. It’s always a pleasure to work with John. He is obviously good at his job but he is always courteous & puts everyone at ease. Stephanie Cawley (Chrysalis Beauty Salon) was on make-up & as usual, all was on time & all was calm.
St. Mary’s Church, Claran was filled to capacity as Aisling arrived with her parents. Best man, Kevin, supplied the transport for the day. Aisling’s walk up the aisle was as relaxed as I have ever seen – Cathal waited calmly! Celebrant, Fr. Ray Flaherty guided the couple through their vows after giving a great homily, filled with wise words & a little humour thrown in.
After mass, John McMahon quickly had the register signing & family photographs taken. Then, after shaking hands with the many guests, the wedding party popped in to the Anglers Rest (www.anglersresthotel.com) in Headford for a quick drink before heading to UCG for some wedding party photography.
As the evening closed in, the wedding party arrived at the Salthill Hotel (http://www.salthillhotel.com/. Pauline & all the staff are expert at what they do at the Salthill Hotel. A popular hotel for weddings because they are good at what the do.
The best man & Cathal were probably a bit nervous prior to their speeches but they were both brilliant. Cathal’s words were obviously from the heart, while Kevin’s had a great mix of fun & genuine good words for Cathal. More words followed after dinner from Shane Cunningham, impressionist. (Shane Cunningham – Impressionist) An up & coming young man with a lot of talent!
Later on, the Lewd Tunes (www.lewdtunes.com) band played long into the night. The guests obviously knew what the floor was for!
Many thanks to Aisling & Cathal for having me record their great day. It was brilliant! Stay happy & mind each other. JM
